Hi, I’m Linda!

ME

In my heart and in my life, I am a lover of humans and animals. I have been a caregiver to my elderly mother for 11 years, learning patience and grace along the way. I have two cats and a dog, all of whom are punks and pieces of my heart in their own furry ways. When not working, I enjoy spending time with those I love, traveling, and being outdoors. I am on my own path to healing and choose enlightenment, love, and grace as my guides.

APPROACH

My training is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and incudes Shadow work and Inner Child work. I work from an organic place based on my understanding of human behavior, innate value and Native American teachings. This means we will focus on the now with knowledge of the past and awareness of the future while using all of the tools you are born with. My therapeutic approach is dependent on the needs of each person I see and the issues that person is facing. That said, I practice primarily from a place of helping others find their power and use it appropriately.  I fundamentally believe that all of us have the strengths necessary to heal our hearts  and move forward into a new, more positive reality.  A significant part of our work will be to help you identify, strengthen, and utilize your power.  Therapy is most effective when we work together toward your goals. It is important that my clients are honored as the experts in their lives and the authors of their futures.

EDUCATION

I am a licensed clinical therapist in Washington state having earned a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Chapman University. I am also a Substance Use Disorder Professional having earned a Human Services Certificate from Tacoma Community College in addition to having earned a Master Addiction Counselor certification from National Certification Commissions for Addiction Professionals. Additionally, I am a certified facilitator in Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), a treatment regimen designed to treat perpetrators of intimate partner violence.

EXPERIENCE

I have 32 years of experience in the mental health field resulting in qualifications to evaluate, diagnose, and treat life issues and mental illness. In addition to my private practice, I work for a local addiction and mental health treatment center providing mental health and addiction services for those who are judicially motivated.  I have experience working as a therapist in several settings including an adolescent residential treatment center, a psychiatric hospital, an outpatient addiction treatment, and with the unhoused.  I am qualified to address issues related to sexuality, childhood and adult trauma, addiction and mental health disorders.

Working with Linda changed my life. Linda is one of the best people I’ve ever met. I can’t recommend her enough.
